Seagate CES 2007 Corporate Direction Documentary
Seagate staged a massive presence at the Consumer Electronics Show this year to kick off their new marketing strategy. The show, which documents the several installations and events around Las Vegas, was hosted by Robert Scoble of PodTech.NET. He also did quite a bit of his own blogging from CES that week.
Mike Van Metre directed the piece, which was shot in Vericam 24p HD. Elastic Creative animated the raw graphic transition elements, and did rotoscoping on the product shots. Sirius Sound did the final audio mix, and Jefferson Curry produced. My job–should I choose to accept it–was to bring it all together in the edit suite at 720p.
Needless to say i accepted, and this turned out to be one of the better corporate videos I’ve done recently. The content feels informative, the length is right, and the exciting format and fast pace make the new hard drives seem manly and sensitive at the same time.
